Access to open space and sporting opportunities

The proposed master plan incorporates many of the strategic open spaces identified by Newark and Sherwood District Council in the recent Green Infrastructure Strategy.  Alongside an extensive network of green spaces that connect existing development to the Site, new links will afford the residents of Newark greatly improved access to the countryside.

For example, new waterside nature conservation areas with public access will be created along the Middle Beck and the River Devon.  These will be complemented by new sporting facilities provided at several locations both within and on the edge of the development.
