An integral part of informing the development proposals south of Newark is to obtain public views and take these into account in preparing a final site-wide masterplan. A series of public exhibition events were held during October 2007 and a summary of the feedback can be downloaded using the link below. Over 1,100 people attended the exhibitions of whom 416 gave us written feedback. Following the public exhibitions around 60 local residents attended two workshops held in November and December 2008. The workshops were intended as an opportunity for members of the Newark Future project team to discuss in depth issues relating to the proposed expansion of Newark with interested members of the local community. Workshop discussions took place in four topic groups: community facilities; environment and landscape; housing; and, transport. The comments received are currently being considered in consultation with the Council in order to refine and develop more detailed plans. Further consultation events are proposed during 2008 and details of these will be posted here in due course.
