Outline Planning Application
An outline planning application for 3,150 dwellings, up to 50 hectares of employment land access including the southern link road two local centres including retail and commercial floor space, 60 bed care home, 2 primary schools, multi use community buildings including space for a medical centre, crèche and access, open space and landscaping, creation of ecological habitat areas, sustainable drainage and flood compensation measures and associated development. The planning application is before Newark and Sherwood District Council for determination.
The planning application is consistent with the Newark and Sherwood District Council's emerging plans for the town, which was debated at the Examination about the Submission Core Strategy in December 2010 and is supported in the inspectors report dataed March 2011
The proposed development would bring a boost to the local economy, new homes including affordable homes, a new southern link road between the A46 and A1 and extended bus services to Newark Town Centre, new primary schools, publically accessible open space and creation of wetland habitat.
