Newark Future is all about giving Newark the homes, jobs and community facilities it needs to become an even better place to live and work.

Newark and Sherwood has been awarded Growth Point status by the Government. This means the district can tap into funds that would ordinarily not be available to it. This will help ensure that the necessary infrastructure to support the district’s growth is delivered. Regional planning policy expects Newark & Sherwood to provide around 17,800 new homes by 2026.

Newark Future will deliver up to 6,000 new homes on land south of Newark, along with a new community park, primary schools, sports facilities and jobs.

Explore this website to find out more about the draft plans and about the public consultation which has taken place since 2007.

A planning application will be submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council in 2009.
