Newark Future is all about giving Newark the homes, jobs and community facilities it needs to become an even better place to live and work.

Newark and Sherwood has been awarded Growth Point status by the Government. This means the district can tap into funds that would ordinarily not be available to it. This will help ensure that the necessary infrastructure to support the district’s growth is delivered. Regional planning policy requires 14,800 new homes to be built in Newark and Sherwood between 2006 and 2026.

Newark Future will deliver up to 6,000 new homes on land south of Newark, along with a new community park, primary schools, sports facilities and jobs.

A planning application is proposed to be submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council later in 2009.
